Roofing the Cabin

August 2nd, 2008- The cabin is two pens with no doors or windows. It has ridgeposts and a ridge pole and rafters on each end.

Roof is ready for shingles.

Tom and Dennis work on the roof.

Long chisel, called a "slick" is used to shape the wood.

Each board gets two layers of shingles, so no rain can get between them.

August 18, 2008 - Roof is half-finished.
