This building was originally a granary built by Philip Foster's grandson, Augustus Burnett. It was renovated and moved to the Philip Foster Farm National Historic Site in June of 2007, thanks to a generous grant from The Kinsman Foundation. It was donated to the JZH Historical Society by Gus Burnett’s grandchildren, Tom Burnett and Joanne Broadhurst.
Originally designed as a granary, the building will be used as storage and an archival repository. Thanks to grants from The Kinsman Foundation, and the Oregon Cultural Trust, the building
has gone through extensive upgrades for security, climate and humidity control.
The next step – ongoing collection and documentation of the Foster family's historical records.
