Homeschool Day - October 8, 2010

Homeschool day offers all the activities of a school tour with none of the rush. The Philip Foster Farm opens from 10:00-2:00 for corn-grinding, sawing, tours of the house, store and barn, blacksmith demonstrations, laundry, log cabin building and more! Come join homeschoolers from all over Oregon and Southwest Washington. Cost is $5.00 per person or $20.00 per family for the whole day. Bring your picnic and step back in time with us. No reservations required.

Volunteers

Many of our volunteers are homeschool families learning Oregon History, public speaking, employment skills and community service as they teach others about our local history. Teens are invited to apprentice as store clerks and blacksmiths, learning specific skills. All volunteers receive printouts of hours worked and we gladly mail out letters of reference for educators and employers.

Call 503-637-6324 or email us at jzhhistsoc@cascadeaccess.com for more information. Download volunteer job descriptions and application form here.
