January through March we come to you with story-telling, squaredancing and role-playing games to teach 2nd-6th grade students about the work and play of Oregon's pioneer families.
Cost is $150.00 for up to four hours with one or more classrooms. |
A brief lesson in the how and why of pioneer clothing and manners, terms of address and introduction to the Foster family of Eagle Creek. Thirty minutes.
Engaging interactive story of Philip's grandson, Charlie, introduces the trades of early Eagle Creek in a memorable cumulative format. Thirty minutes.
Students are assigned trades and negotiate with each other for the necessities of life, learning more about pioneer lifestyles, economics and barganing strategies. One hour. Maximum 30 students.
Students learn a traditional square dance, some basic steps and terminology and a little more about the etiquette and leisure of pioneer life.
