This hands-on tour is a favorite with two full hours of activity. Students grind corn, use a crosscut saw, visit a pioneer house, store and barn, use a washboard and wringer, build a log cabin, and pack a wagon for the long trip west. Many teachers tell us its their favorite field trip ever, and students agree!
Cost is $6.00 per person, including adults. School staff is free. September and October tours are $5.00 per person.
Check the calendar for available dates and reserve your tour soon. Spring of 2009 is already filling up! |
Visit the Foster Farm inDecember for a glimpse of pioneer life in winter with crafts, songs, stories, and tastes of the season. This tour is designed with primary students in mind. Students visit a pioneer home, where they hear the traditional Christmas story, sing carols, learn about keeping warm in winter, traditional foods and food preservation methods. They visit the barn to learn about animal care, sleighrides and jingle bells, then to the craft room (our store is emptied to make room for this) to make a stocking and learn about pioneer Christmas expectations.
Cost is $5.00 per person, including parents. School staff is free. |
